La Manga del Mar Menor is a Spanish town settled on a coastline located in the southeast of the Iberian peninsula in the Region of Murcia and, after its urbanization in the second half of the twentieth century, is a tourist center of great importance.
It belongs to the municipalities of Cartagena in its southern part and San Javier in its northern part, which have formed a consortium to administer the area. To the north of the channel of Estacio is a protected space called Salinas and Arenales of San Pedro del Pinatar that gives continuity to the coastal cord and forms part of the municipal term of San Pedro del Pinatar.
